Lauren Marie Socha (born June 9, 1990) is a BAFTA award winning English actress, best known for her starring role in the E4 comedy-drama television series Misfits and a co-starring role in the Channel 4 drama The Unloved She attended St George's RC Primary School, Burton College and Saint Benedict School and Performing Arts College, Derby and moonlights as a singer She trained at Ian Smith's Television Workshop based in Nottingham
In May 2010, Lauren was nominated for a BAFTA for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Samantha Morton's directorial debut The Unloved in which she played a sixteen year old girl in a care home [1] In May 2011 she won a BAFTA for her portrayal of Kelly Bailey in Misfits, in the Best Supporting Actress category
In 2011 Lauren took part in the BBC Learning project "Off By Heart Shakespeare" where she played Juliet from Romeo and Juliet, performing the speech: "Blistered be thy tongue" [2]
She is the younger sister of actor Michael Socha, known for his roles in This Is England '86 and Being Human
